Dr. Suzanne Ildstad

Dr. Ildstad is internationally recognized for her discovery of a “facilitating” cell that allows bone marrow stem cells to be transplanted from one person to another without life threatening rejection. That discovery has created a platform with the potential to permanently treat or cure more than 20 different diseases - many of which affect children or young adults. It also makes it possible to transplant organs and limbs without rejection or the need for anti-rejection medication.
